TigerTracks is Fort Hays State Univerity’s web portal. It provides easy, centralized access to the university’s online services as well as other functionality such as local weather, announcements, classified ads, and elections. The portal pages are customizable by the user, so content and “look and feel” can be personalized to accommodate individual tastes.
Is TigerTracks secure?
Yes, TigerTracks uses 128-bit SSL encryption from Verisign, ensuring the privacy and integrity of your information.
CAS is an acronym for Centralized Authentication Service. CAS is open source software designed and supported by a consortium of major universities and provides users with single sign-on capabilities for online services.

Why do I get a message about ‘unsecure items’?
TigerTracks receives some information from outside sources, for example, the Daily Business Cartoon and Word of the Day channels offered in the portal. Accepting to view the unsecured items will not compromise the portal’s security.
To access the services and information offered in TigerTracks, users must activate their TigerTracks login.
Click the CAS Secure Login button to access the FHSU Central Authentication Login form.
To ensure the privacy and security of your personal information, it is important to logout of the portal. When you have finished using TigerTracks, click on the Logout button in the upper right corner. For added protection it is also recommended that you close your browser.
Moving around the portal is done using Tabs and the Navigation bar in the right hand corner. Refrain from using the browser’s “Back” button when navigating the portal; it does not work predictably.
Tabs are pages that contain “channels”, or small frames containing the information that make up your layout. To view a tab’s content, click on the tab name. Tabs can be created, deleted, moved, or renamed as part of the portal’s personalization feature. The user controls the number of columns on a tab, the content that is displayed there, and the channel layout. For more information on personalizing your layout, see Modifying Your Layout.
The Navigation Bar at the upper right of the portal contains the following items:
Home - returns to a user’s Home tab
Site Map - Opens a list of clickable links to channels in your layout.
Preferences - Opens the window allowing the user to personalize his or her portal layout and color scheme.
Logout - Logout of the portal and the CAS session.
Note: Some Tabs and Channels may be unremovable. For all layOut modifications discussed, click on the Preferences link appearing on the Navigation Bar.
Tabs are useful for grouping similar information under one heading.
To Add a tab: Identify the Tabs on the User Preference’s layout map. Locate and click the tab containing the text “New Tab”.
To Move a tab: Click the tab to be moved on the User Preference’s layout map. In the “Options for Modifying This Tab” area, select the new position for the tab where it says “Move this tab to a different position”. Click the Move button.
To Delete a tab: Click the tab to be moved on the User Preference’s layout map. In the “Options for Modifying This Tab” area, click the “Delete this Tab” link.
